Advantages of Thin-Film RTDs

When looking at temperature measurement technologies, thin-film RTDs have a number of advantages over thermistors and wire-wound RTDs. Thermistors have a much smaller temperature range and tend to drift over time. However, thin-film RTDs can operate in the harshest conditions while experiencing minimal drift. Wire-wound RTDs can be susceptible to vibration and are expensive to produce, while thin-film RTDs are much more robust, more affordable, and offer more packaging options.

If you are dealing with applications that require high accuracy in extreme conditions, IST thin-film technology is the best option.
